What the SRO-450 Reduces
The KNIGHT SRO-450 uses reverse osmosis — a semi-permeable membrane that water is forced through under pressure — to reduce lead, nitrates, cysts such as cryptosporidium and giardia, arsenic, sodium, and other dissolved contaminants commonly found in unfiltered tap water. These are exactly the contaminants that a whole-home softener does not address, which is why an RO system belongs at the kitchen sink even in a home with a softener: the softener treats the water that goes on you, the RO treats the water that goes in you.
